About Me

Amy Chen is a textile designer-maker and educator. Her work encompasses textiles and technology in different ways, from her work in e-textiles (interactive textiles that incorporate electronics) to knitting with a hacked vintage knitting machine. 

Amy’s work explores the creative possibilities of knitted e-textiles, as an interactive material that stimulates the sense of touch as much as through sight. As an educator, Amy promotes broadening participation in textiles and technology, encouraging cross-disciplinary practice to new audiences.
